Over 300 people dressed in their finest black outfits. Came out for an event in support of cancer research and a local hair salon.
A hair salon downtown called Nova Vita has dedicated a day in the past 13 years to show case their talent and beauty to help raise money for a great cause.
In support of cancer research, the event has raised 100,030 dollars in one night.
Tickets cost 40$ and other donations to maybe win a chance of a prize went to the cancer research.
They had several goodie baskets and surprises that people can donate to get a chance to win these items.
This year their theme was to remember and to celebrate people who have passed on from Cancer.
They open up the run way for volunteers to show case their different looks of the past. They touched upon different styles, makeup, hair and music of the century. To help people remember the past and the people who have passed away from cancer. But to also celebrate the lives we lost to cancer and the ones who survived this horrible disease.
Volunteer models showed off various outfits like their colored jump suit of the 80s and their poodle dress from the 50s.
Many of the clothing was designed by local designers Elizabeth Noel for and Desi’s Boutique. There were many hands-on-deck when it came to putting on the fashion show.
“Many volunteers came out and helped which was amazing and super helpful couldn’t have done it without them,” said the coordinator and Manger of the event and La Vita Hair salon.
The night was helped run by many volunteers like the DJ, the models, the setup crew and the behind the sense.
They hope to continue to do this tradition next year with a new theme to hopefully raise as much money as they did for the past 13 years.
