Last night, the internet was a crazy place as Marvel fans desperately tried to get day-one tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The new movie from Sony and Disney is set to break all kinds of records as it is one of the most hyped movies in recent memory. The most recent trailer for the film has amassed a total of almost 50 million views in less than 14 days.
The film centers around Peter Parker and his attempt to separate his personal life from his life as Spider-Man. After the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where he was exposed as Spider-Man, Peter desperately asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell that makes everyone forget he is Spider-Man. Unfortunately, this spell goes wrong and instead breaks the barriers between universes, and characters from different universes start appearing. This sparks the return of Electro, Doc-Ock, the Green Goblin, Sandman, and the Lizard. This has also been rumored to be why Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles as Spider-Man, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home were set to go on sale this morning as the clock struck midnight, but Canadian fans were left stunned by there being no trace of tickets at all at Cineplex theaters. Those who live close to Landmark theatres were able to buy tickets at midnight. It turns out this was all part of the plan as the release time for the tickets has been revealed by Twitter account @bigscreenleaks, who contacted Cineplex customer service.
