It has all come down to this. Four NFL teams remain as we head into the second last round of the NFL Playoffs. Only two teams can win and head to the Super Bowl. This year has a chance to be different as three of the four remaining teams have not won a Super Bowl recently, if ever. History could be guaranteed after this weekend but let’s break down exactly what to expect in the 2022 NFL Conference Championship Weekend.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs – AFC Championship – 3:00 pm
Tell me if you have heard this one before. The Kansas City Chiefs could make the Super Bowl AGAIN. It seems like groundhog day every time the NFL Playoffs roll around as the Chiefs can’t seem to go away. No matter what gets thrown in their way, they always are in the battle to make the big game. But, this year, they are taking on the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have not made a Super Bowl in over 30 years, and they have never won a Super Bowl. But, times have changed now that Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow is leading the team. Fans have opted to call him ‘Joe Brrr’ because he is so clutch with ‘ice in his veins.’ It will take all Burrow has for the Bengals to beat the defending AFC Champion Chiefs. Most NFL fans are praying for a Bengals victory as this would guarantee a new Super Bowl matchup and an uncommon Super Bowl winner.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams – NFC Championship – 6:30 pm
It’s a battle of California for the NFC Championship, and the 49ers are on the brink of history. The 49ers have defeated two of the top teams in the NFC these playoffs. They first went up against a deadly Cowboys team that looked destined for a deep playoff run. They won that game when everyone said they wouldn’t have a chance. Then after a whole week of being told the Packers would destroy them, they pulled that game out too. Now, they have to take on what might be their toughest matchup yet in the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are your stereotypical super team. They were a stellar team last season, and then the offseason happened. They bolstered their lineup with Quarterback Matthew Stafford. Then at the trade deadline, they acquired players like Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr. Now, the team is a deadly force to be reckoned with. The 49ers and Rams have recently made Super Bowls, and both lost those games. They are both hoping to turn their luck around this season.
All four teams deserve to be where they are, but only two can make the Super Bowl. Find out who will make it this Sunday in the NFL Conference Championship Weekend.
