The London Knights have recently found themselves in a slump. The defensive performances have been lackluster, and they have lost star Goalie Brett Brochu to injury. The Knights have lost game after game with no signs of a rebound in sight. That was, at least, until this past weekend.
The Knights took on the Sarnia Sting in Sarnia. The Sting has been a thorn in the Knights’ side this season. Luckily, the Knights were able to pull it all together and end their losing streak finally. The final score was 4-2, with the Knights claiming victory.
It was a fantastic performance by the offensive players putting four goals on the board. Gerard Keane, Camaryn Baber, & Liam Gilmartin contributed 6 points for the Knights. The game was played much more rigidly and tighter on the defensive side. This was something the Knights were lacking in previous games. Gerard Keane was the game’s standout player for the Knights, locking down the Sting and putting points on the board.
London now looks to their next game tonight against the Saginaw Spirit. The Knights play Saginaw twice in their next three games. So, a win tonight can set the tone for the upcoming rematch. London has won the only game played between the two teams this season. The Spirit currently sits at the bottom of the Western Conference, with only 18 wins this season. So, this matchup could not come at a better time as the Knights hope to string together a winning streak to reclaim first place in the Conference.
The game gets started at 7:00 pm and takes place at Budweiser Gardens in London, ON. XFM News will be live tonight at the Knights game. A post-game recap of the action will be available on our website shortly after the game is finished.
