100 Kellogg Lane’s spring market is full of smiling faces this year.
After two years of the pandemic, Londoners are finally allowed to show their cheerful expressions on display. The market features local businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs. Enjoy delicious locally made treats and refreshments while you shop for Mother’s Day and Easter gifts. Don’t forget to bring your camera for the fun photo opportunities. The umbrella ceiling, the wishing wall, and the big red phone booth decked out for spring – to name a few. This spring is an opportunity for many local businesses to show off their brand as they come out of the pandemic.
Lunar Hot Sauce is excited to make their second appearance at Kellogg’s markets. They first presented themselves at the Merry Market in December of 2021. Luna and Craig MacLeod started making their own hot sauce at home.
“We started making small batches at home and started posting photos on Facebook, then our neighbours started purchasing it.” said Luna. “We realized we’ve actually got a really good recipe and people started coming back and asking for more.”
From then, they started creating their brand. They now have a variety of products including sauces, spreads, honey, seasonings, pickled jalapenos, and their signature hot sauces that come in ten different flavours.
“What’s special about our brand is that we actually fermented our sauce for at least 90 days before the cooking process started” she highlights. The unique quality of their sauces is that “the fermentation is not giving people heartburn because the probiotics do the fermentations.”
Luna and Craig are looking forward to growing their customer base and meeting with other vendors.
“We’ve been loving the vibes here and people are very supportive locals. We like meeting the vendors and getting inspiration from different people from different cities. There are so many things going on here, the imagination is endless. It’s one of the fine markets you’ll find in Ontario.”
Kellogg’s spring market runs for two more weekends of March 31st – April 3rd and April 7th – 10th. It operates between 4-9pm on Thursday and Friday, 11am-9pm on Saturday, and 11am-6pm on Sunday. Admission is $5 for an all day pass.
