Some buses are cancelled and schools are closed in London – Middlesex region as weather advisory remains in effect.
Snowy weather will continue for the whole week. Environment Canada has issued a warning.
“I wasn’t expecting that snow. They always warn us but it never happens,” says one of Fanshawe’s students.
Heavy snow started today in the morning and is expected to continue all day and in overnight. The flurries are expected to start at midnight.
Now there’s about a cm of snow, but it’s anticipated that the city could see up to 15 cm of accumulation.
“I have winter tires, but I’m not taking my car today. I’ve seen some accidents happening,” adds the student.
According to the city of London, the salters were out before six in the morning. According to city officials, the roads are in good condition.
The wind started picking up from noon.
Fanshawe College remained open and in-person classes operated on schedule till three in the afternoon. Then the classes were officially suspended.
Most LTC buses are on route as well. Some schools buses are being cancelled . According to the officials, most schools are opened and classes are on schedule.
