Fanshawe College Innovation Village has showcased its first-ever concert in Forwell Hall. Students were excited to see the Canadian Grammy Nominee Steven Lee Olsen in the new space.
“I’m very excited because with my program I heard a lot about Innovation Village and I thought that it was really cool that they’re adding this edition to Fanshawe,” says Cassandra Tops.
Another Fanshawe student who attended the concert, Madeline Morganelli is a huge fan of the main performer.
“I love Stephen Lee Olsen. He has some great music, I love his songs. I’ve been loving his songs for a long time and my mom is a die-hard fan of him,” says Morganelli.
Thalia Celia, a current Fanshawe student, came to check out the first concert in Forwell Hall.
“It’s a good time to have fun with your friends and it’s also a good time to escape from homework and assignments. It feels like we have all the elements to be creative including having such live music. It should be quite often,” says Celia.
Despite not having a large crowd, the event and engagement supervisor Aaron McMillian was enthralled to have Steven Lee Olsen to be the first performer in Forwell Hall.
“Honestly, he was at the top of our list to try and contact and see if he would be interested in playing this event. It was his first time playing here,” says McMillian.
McMillan felt that the vibe was high amongst the students and people who attended the concert.
“I think the vibe was excited to be in Forwell Hall and to see how it would look, how it would sound and just be a part of the vibe for the very first concert ever. I think people were all so curious, not everyone knows Steven Lee Olson. We wanted to showcase this space with a talented Grammy-nominated artist,” says McMillian.
More events will be coming soon at Innovation Village Forwell Hall.
