“There’s no words to describe it.” That was what one traveler from Toronto had to say about watching the total solar eclipse over Niagara Falls.
“It was breathtaking and the energy with everyone cheering.” Another remarked.
According to Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati, the region was expecting over a million people in anticipation of the eclipse.
However, while some travelers were in awe of the event, others were disappointed by the amount of time that clouds were obscuring the event.
“During the entire time it was in and out of being blocked by the clouds.” A traveler from Pennsylvania had to say.
He went on to talk about watching the 2017 total solar eclipse in Nashville, Tennessee, and how, to him, that was a much better experience.
“We could see the entire thing then. But it still was pretty trippy seeing the whole sky get dark.”
The next total solar eclipse that will be viewable in Canada won’t be until 2033, in parts of B.C. Then 11 years later, another will be visible across parts of B.C. and Alberta. For more information about future eclipses, visit NASA’s eclipse information page.
