Acting Prime Minister Mark Carney called in a snap election earlier today, and a neck-and-neck race followed quickly.
London Free Press says that London area’s seven out of ten seats were taken by the Conservatives when the election was called, while the three seats in London were taken by the Liberals, which held two, and the NDP, which held one.
Future voters were asked the question, “What do you look for in a candidate?” The people did not disappoint.
“Less taxes, healthcare is good, some healthcare, I want the farmers to be helped out, as we rely on them,” one respondent said. “We need to end homelessness,” said another. “I would look for a prime minister that has a strong [economic] plan,” another respondent said. At least two other respondents said there needs to be a strong answer against Donald Trump and his tariffs.
Canadians are expected to enter the polling stations in Apr. 28. London Free Press also says that there are four new ridings, each with new names, in the London region.
