Photography students from Fanshawe College are exhibiting their work this week as part of the annual REFLEX student exhibition at TAP Centre for Creativity in downtown London.
The exhibition features selected photographs from the college’s Student Image Competition. Students submitted two photos each for judging, with one chosen for display.

The opening reception on April 8 welcomed students, faculty, friends, and community members to celebrate the photographers’ achievements. The evening recognized not only the creative vision of the students, but also the technical skill and dedication that went into each image on display.
Guests mingled throughout the gallery space, enjoying a food table stocked with snacks and refreshments while taking in the wide range of student work.
“It’s really important that the college has a way to showcase art in a public setting for an entire week,” said Greg Crossman, a second-year student in the program. “On top of getting your images presented to the public, you learn a lot about yourself.”
Remarks began at 7 p.m. with a few words from Hannah Theodore, editor of Interrobang, Fanshawe’s student newspaper, who spoke to the importance of student storytelling through visual media. Following that, Brian Hillier, coordinator of the Photography Program, took the stage to announce the winners of this year’s image competition.
In total, $5,000 in sponsor prizes were awarded.
Fanshawe’s Photography Program is one of the college’s original programs from when it opened in 1967, and REFLEX remains a long-standing tradition in celebrating student achievement.
The exhibition runs from April 8 to 12 in the Main Gallery at the TAP Centre For Creativity.
