The London Knights held their annual teddy bear toss night and was a great success with a sold out arena to watch them take on the Sarnia Sting.
The team anticipated to reach a goal of 2,500 bears but collected an astounding 11,524 teddy bears at this year’s toss, the most in the teams history of hosting the event.
Five minutes into the first period, London’s Jared Woolley scored his first career goal in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) which prompted the heavy rain of teddy bears down onto the ice.
As the game came to a pause for the ice crew and the team to collect the bears, the 17 year old defenseman was overjoyed. “I told the boys I was going to get it” said Woolley.
The knights ended the game with a 4-1 win over the Sting.
